Shepparton sits on the Goulburn, but the trout water is further upstream. John's rivers start about an hour and a half away, which makes an easy day trip.

A day trip from Shepparton
From Shepparton you can leave after breakfast and be on the water by mid morning. The Delatite and the lower Goulburn are the closest, and they're very different rivers. The Delatite is a clear freestone stream under the mountains. The Goulburn is a big, cold tailwater with long runs.

Making a weekend of it
The alpine rivers around Bright and Mount Beauty are a longer drive. A night in Bright or Myrtleford turns a long day in the car into a relaxed trip with a full day on the water.

Every trip is a half or full day with John beside you on the water the whole time. Waders, boots, rods, reels and flies are all supplied, so there's nothing to pack but yourself. Catering is included, and dietary requirements are catered for.
