Up the Hume to Wangaratta, then the Great Alpine Road to Myrtleford.
Drive times are a rough guide and depend on the stretch John picks for the day.
Coming from Longwood, Strathbogie or Ruffy? The same rivers are the closest for you too, and the drive is about the same.
A day trip from Euroa
The Goulburn below Lake Eildon is the easy pick from Euroa. It's big, cold water that holds trout all year, and an hour's drive means a relaxed start for a full day.
If you'd rather fish a smaller stream, the Delatite is only 15 minutes further. Ask John which river suits the week you're coming.
Making a weekend of it
The alpine rivers around Myrtleford and Bright are closer to two hours away. Book two days, stay a night in the Ovens Valley and fish a different river each day.
What's included
Every trip is a half or full day with John beside you on the water the whole time. Waders, boots, rods, reels and flies are all supplied, so there's nothing to pack but yourself. Catering is included, and dietary requirements are catered for.
Casting lessons in Benalla
Benalla is about 35 minutes up the Hume Freeway, so a three hour casting lesson is an easy trip from Euroa. More about casting lessons.
Plan your trip from Euroa.
Tell John where you're coming from, which days suit and what you'd like to get out of the trip. He'll suggest the river and plan the day around it.
