A day trip from Alexandra

The lower Goulburn is the obvious choice from Alexandra. You can be on the water ten minutes after leaving home, which leaves the whole day for fishing.

For something different, the Delatite near Mansfield is a smaller, clearer stream. John can suggest which suits your experience and the conditions that week.

Making a weekend of it

The Howqua and the King are a longer drive from here. A night in Mansfield puts both within an hour, so you can fish two days on different water.

What's included

Every trip is a half or full day with John beside you on the water the whole time. Waders, boots, rods, reels and flies are all supplied, so there's nothing to pack but yourself. Catering is included, and dietary requirements are catered for.

Casting lessons in Benalla

Benalla is about an hour and a half away via Mansfield. If you're new to fly fishing, a casting lesson before your first trip makes the day on the river easier. More about casting lessons.

Plan your trip from Alexandra.

Tell John where you're coming from, which days suit and what you'd like to get out of the trip. He'll suggest the river and plan the day around it.
